What We Believe

About the Bible

We believe the Bible is the inspired and infallible Word of God, divinely revealed to man. We accept the Bible as true, and as the final authority on salvation and Christian living. II Timothy 3:15-17; John 8:32; Psalm 119:11; Psalm 119:105

About the Gospel

The saving gospel is the good news that Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and rose again. We obey the gospel (II Thessalonians 1:8; I Peter 4:17) by repentance (death to sin), water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ (burial), and receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit (resurrection). (See I Corinthians 15:1-4; Acts 2:4, 37-39; Romans 6:3-4.) Romans 3:24-25; Ephesians 2:8-9; Colossians 1:22; 1 Peter 1:19 We believe that salvation comes only by God’s grace through faith and the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ on Calvary. We obey the gospel in repentance (death to sin), water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ (burial), and the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the initial sign of speaking in tongues as the Spirit gives the utterance (resurrection). Ephesians 2:8-9; I Peter 4:17; Acts 2:4, 37-39; Romans 6:3-4

About God

We believe there is one God who revealed Himself to humanity as our Father, in His Son Jesus Christ, and as the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is God manifested in flesh – both God and man – and that three manifestations are the same one true God. Deuteronomy 6:4; Ephesians 4:4-6; Colossians 2:9; I Timothy 3:16

About Holiness & Christian Living

As Christians we are still subject to the tempations and impact of sin which grieves the Holy Spirit. That we should strive continuously to resist tempation, repent of any sin, and live a holy & overcoming life inwardly and outwardly. II Corinthians 7:1; Hebrews 12:14; Colossians 3:5–6; Romans 6:12–14 As Christians, we are to love God with all of our heart, soul and mind and to love one another, as He loved us. We believe that Jesus’ repeated commandment for us to ‘love one another’ is a mission-critical component of Christianity and living an overcoming life. We strive to demonstrate love to all – sinner and saint alike; no matter their race, nationality, ethnicity, language, political affiliation, or socio-economic status. Mark 12:28-31; John 13:34-35; 1 Peter 4:8; Ephesians 4:32; John 15:12; 1 John 4:7-11; 1 John 4:20-22; Matthew 5:43-48

About Sin & Salvation

We believe that all have sinned, and that sin’s effect is distance from God and eternal damnation and that all humanity needs salvation. Romans 3:23-24; James 1:14–15; Galatians 5:19–21; Romans 6:23;
